From the Past, I

Oh gosh, if I were to find hours trying to remember the movies I have seen, well... that would take a long time. By that, I do no try to imply that I have seen many movies. Because I haven't. Some might call it embarrassing. I just don't desire to spend much of my life watching movies. I have a life to live, you know?

Perhaps alphabetizing these would good.

Here can be old(er) movies. Stuff that hasn't just come out.

40 Year Old Virgin
- Oh, it's a funny movie. Steve Carrell is a funny guy. Overquoted, to be sure. But I can still enjoy it.

Blazing Saddles
- Mel Brooks is a genius, of course. What more do you need? This movie is great. I always enjoyed the Count Basie Orchestra (or is it Duke Ellington?) being there in the introduction. So much wonderful humor. The subtlety. The stuff that many people don't get, that's what makes it even better. I wish I could put my finger on exactly why it's so wonderful.

Harry Potter (all of them)
- Similar to Lord of the Rings, I've enjoyed them all, after reading all of the books. Though we are only waiting for what I believe is the last one or two movies in the series of 7, I have enjoyed the progression of them. It's somewhat difficult to watch the first few, though, as the actors have aged so greatly since then.

Lord of the Rings (the trilogy)
- I loved these movies. Mostly for my affinity with the books. Of course, we much preferred the books - that is, my dad and I. But that's almost always the case, right? But these movies, they were great. Hmm. I wonder why that's the first very first movie (or set of movies) that came to mind.

Monty Python & the Holy Grail
- Oh come on, this is a classic, right? I've only become frustrated with it because it has become so mainstream. Friends in high school would run around, clapping coconut halves together to sound like a horse. And others would get it. I liked it much better before other people got it. Still, this humor reaches down to the very bottom of my funny-bone of my soul. I just get it. It just gets me. Maybe because I'm so British. :)

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
- Less people know this movie, and I, thus, like it better. There are definitely some awkward parts, like the teaching-how-to-have-sex part (which I saw part of once with my father, and I believe I had to leave the room out of awkwardness). But there is so much quality in it. As I watch more and more Monty Python, I catch more references from the cd of Monty Python skits and songs that I never recognized before.

Napoleon Dynamite
- Similar to Monty Python, I liked it for the short bit between me seeing it and it becoming popular. Overquoted, as usual. That sort of weird, dry humor, though, is awesome.
